


Tightening Up Your Weaving with Cynthia Main
Description: A hands-on intermediate-level workshop with Cynthia Main of Sunhouse Craft. Want to make your broom weaving tighter, cleaner, and more consistent?
This class will make a plain weave and twill handle on a turkey wing. In it we will take a closer look at the details that can make a big difference in the appearance of your weaving. We will troubleshoot common problems: loose or uneven weaving, gaps, shifting materials, awkward transitions, stalk size, and any other questions that come up!
Bring your questions: broom making experience is required. Must be able to make a basic plain weave with stalks on a hand broom.
Instructor: Artist / maker Cynthia Main started Sunhouse Craft as a place to combine her foundation in woodworking and traditional craft with a strong desire to find sustainable and harmonious ways of working. A passionate lover of nature, she devotes much of her work in the business to helping create a more verdant and connected future through sourcing and providing meaningful work. She has been making brooms since 2013, and working as a maker / builder / artist / gardener and farmer for more than two decades.
