At first glance, it looks like a ghost—and that’s how we made it! The Ghost Board is a playful, sculptural cutting board designed to stand out on the table, whether it’s holding a simple snack or anchoring a full charcuterie spread.
Each board is made from locally sourced hardwood reclaimed from trees that would otherwise be chipped or discarded. By giving these materials a second life, every Ghost Board gives a this beautiful wood a chance to haunt your table!
For the naturally black option, we use a traditional ebonizing solution made in-house. Rather than staining the surface, this process reacts with the tannins in the wood itself, permanently darkening it and revealing the grain beneath. The result is a deep, matte black that’s integral to the material—not a coating.
Finished by hand and built for daily use, this is a functional object that doesn’t hide its personality.
